Pretty productive day, yay.
Woke up early (10:30a), took out the chinchillas, got some food. Finished my C++ intro book, save for overloading the assignment and i/o stream operators. Learned a hell of a lot about class and inheritance - pretty cool stuff. I was perusing some cool projects today - built a program to draw triangles using asterisks, calculate if a number is prime, how many below it are prime, prime operations, etc. Saw a cool project to design your own chess program. I can see it now in that there will be a class for pieces that give rules on taking over other pieces, perhaps. Then classes for each piece governing rules of movement. Sounds hard, maybe a little more tedious than I want to get into, but it's something worth considering.
Thought a little more about this SQL/PHP/HTML project I have taken on. Now that I've finished C++ it's time to get a little more into that, and PHP. Books to read:
Herb Sutter
Scott Meyers
Stroustrup's Design and Evolution of C++
Lippman's Inside the C++ Object Model
Drozdek's Data Structures and Algorithms in C++
Then I played some more mandolin until my fingers hurt and read some Ecclesiastes. Still don't fully get how he came around in chapter 3, but I'll read more of it some time soon.
